Why R women against afirmative action programs which encourage male college enrolment in the name of diversity?

forgive spelling - had to nix some letters to make it fit.

Why R women against afirmative action programs which encourage male college enrolment in the name of diversity?
Because they are hypocrites. Women have been benefiting from affirmative action (i.e., discrimination against men) for decades. White middle class women still are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action today. Their idea of "equality" does not include equal or fair treatment for men.
Reply:This is one of the things that bothers me most about modern feminism.

Women outnumber men in college, both in attendance and in financial resources available. Yet affirmative action is still pushed, and female-exclusive scholarships are still in place, and there doesn't seem to be any kind of movement against it, other than the occasional apologetic lip service (or outright denial of the situation). To use the aphorism, it seems that with modern feminism, 'some people are more equal than others.'

The actions of the feminist movement over the past few decades have clearly demonstrated a shift from a fight for equality to a simple organized bigotry movement.
Reply:I'm against affirmative action for anyone! We all have equal opportunity, and college places should be given based on personal merit, not gender or anything else. Colleges should pick people with the best qualifications and enthusiasm, rather than trying to socially engineer diversity. I think affirmative action is quite insulting to the people it tries to help... it's like saying that men need special help to compete with women.
Reply:I am feminist and I'm against any form of affirmative action. I think it harms the very people it tries to help.

If I were eventually a CEO I wouldn't want people resenting me and think I only got there because of affirmative action. If there are road blocks in someone's way we should remove them, but not pass people through blindly because they're "under-represented."

As far as what you're claiming, I've never even heard of such a thing.
Reply:Is good to see you back Samuel Cameron.Boys these days are going through a rough time. 70% of boys have been put on ritalin they are also made to feel ashamed of they gender it was stated by a feminist named Doris Lessing http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2001/aug/14... Infact feminist are happy that boys are not doing well in school it prove they theory that women are superior then men. Feminist have been giving the opportunity to help boys improve they grade and have aggressively oppose it because they believe that whatever might help boys might hurt girls. Not only have they oppose to help boys they have oppose other organiztion that have attempted to help boys get good grade in school.
Reply:Affirmative Action also includes women.

I'm against affirmative action in every way. I don't think anyone should be admitted into a college or institution or given a job based on their gender or race. It should purely based on their merit and qualifications.
Reply:Not women. Feminists.

Cause feminists believe that women are discriminated against, and thus men should never ever be given any advantage. Or they are just deliberatly being sexist, but as I'm not a feminist I don't know.
Reply:Im against any affirmative action.
Reply:cuz they dont want want men to get eucation or jobs
