What is a good, royal name for a fully-grown male?

I'm writing a book and I've drawn a blank on this one.

What is a good, royal name for a fully-grown male?
David, Saul, Solomon
Reply:Some of the old Anglo-Saxon names are nice: Aethelwulf. Egbert , Ealhmund, Eafa, Eoppa, Ingild, Coenred, Ceolwald, Cutha Cathwulf, Cuthwine, Creawlin, Cynric .Creoda, Cerdic.

The ancient habit of assigning a short phrase to the name of a king is fun:

----------

Aethelred, the Unready

Edgar , the Peacable

Edmund, the Magnificent

Edward, the Elder

Alfred , the Great

----------

It always seems funny to be remembered for a thousand years as "the Unready". Everyone who learns your name has only one question:" What was he not ready for?". Then you could be "Charles, the Fat" or "Charles, the bald". Of course, the cruelest name is the impotent "John, Lackland" when your brother is named "Richard, the Lionhearted".
